Homeland, Part III 2005 |
||||
The video installation ‘Homeland, Part III’ consists of a film projected on the entire wall with a comfortable chair placed in front of it on a warm soft carpet. By sitting down in the chair the viewer actively participates in the installation and becomes part of it. The film shows a meadow with three oak trees as the seasons change. The static camera always focusses, although in different locations, under the trees. One sees the changing of nature and how people use the land; moments of silence, quietness and turbulence. By the passing of time and the changes in the environment, the viewer is led to identify with the place. This work is dealing with notions such as compassion, comfort and muteness. |
