works Pietà, A Reconsideration of the Gesture

The photo work Frozen Gesture shows a partial left arm and hand that is covered with a white treacly mass. Paradoxically, the posture of the hand expresses an open inviting gesture while being delineated by a raised edge, which creates a measured territory for this engaging gesture.


This work is part of the overarching investigation entitled Pietà, A Reconsideration of the Gesture.
